About Gail Christopher and Heather McGhee Racism is the common denominator of our most vexing public problems. But not just in the most obvious indignities for people of color. Racism has costs for white people, too. How did this happen? And is there a way out? In The Sum of Us, McGhee finds proof of what she calls the Solidarity Dividend: gains that come when people come together across race, to accomplish what we simply can't do on our own. Dr. Gail Christopher is an award-winning social change agent and driving force behind the America Healing initiative and the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation movement, a comprehensive, national and community-based process to bring about transformational and sustainable change. Through TRHT, collaborators address the historic and contemporary effects of racism in their communities and institutions. They work to replace the deeply held belief system that fuels racism with one that sees the inherent value of all people. Free parking will be available in the Chemistry and Circuit lots on West Campus. The address for both parking lots is: 173 Circuit Drive Durham, NC 27705 Duke TRHT Center Event signs will direct guests to the Chemistry and Circuit parking lots and to Penn Pavilion. Penn Pavilion is located at 107 Union Dr, Durham, NC 27710.
