Climate & Culture at Duke
OFA supports all schools across Duke as they work to place policies and practices that promote a respectful and professional work and educational environment. Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration with Deans and their leadership teams, OFA shares best practices, as well as local and institutional interventions for building and promoting an inclusive climate. In parallel, OFA is engaged in a university-wide dialogue in the form of workshops and forums to discuss the role that faculty play in cultivating civility and respect for all community members. Nationally, OFA is participating in the National Academies Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education. Through this effort, OFA is collaborating and sharing best practices with other universities committed to improving climate in higher education.
