Equitable Hiring Practices for Unit Leaders
Duke is committed to holding rigorous, thorough and equitable searches to recruit and hire the most talented faculty into our community. The Office for Faculty Advancement and the Office for Institutional Equity are offering a workshop for department chairs and leaders of academic units faculty to discuss best practices for unit leaders during the faculty search process. The search workshop is highly interactive and will walk leaders through different search scenarios and discussions on effective practices to help you navigate the issues that may arise during the search process. Leaders will also have the opportunity to share the lessons learned from previous searches and be informed by additional strategies from their colleagues. It is our intention to make the content timely, relevant and engaging. The sessions will be led by colleagues and experts who are available to assist departments with different aspects of the search, as well as share resources, strategies and effective practices for each stage of the process.
