Leaders can expend huge effort and resources in retaining talented faculty - too often, after they are already contemplating a move. Providing junior faculty access to effective mentoring is a proactive, evidence-based retention strategy. In this discussion, we'll consider different forms of mentorship that might benefit junior faculty, actions leaders can take in building strong local cultures of faculty mentoring, and ways to empower individual faculty to create bespoke mentoring networks.
