Moving Your Unit Forward Following the Duke Climate Survey: Third Annual Retreat for Academic and Administrative Leaders
This day-long retreat will bring together Duke's school leadership teams, academic unit leaders, department chairs and leaders of administrative units to continue the collaborative work of improving local cultures and climates and creating equitable practices. This gathering will follow up on leadership retreats held in 2022 and 2023 where academic and administrative leaders reflected on the results of the 2021 Duke Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Climate Survey.
The event will include sessions with President Price, Provost Gallimore, Executive Vice President Ennis and Executive Vice President & Dean Klotman.
Leaders will:
Participate in facilitated discussions and activities to reflect on progress in their units, and consider any challenges that have prevented work from advancing.
Learn from fellow academic and administrative leaders about successful practices across different units at Duke.
Share highlights of successful equity work in their own units with other leaders working on similar topics.
Engage with institutional leaders about resources, practical tools and supportive measures to improve local climates and move ideas into actionable steps.
