In this off-site retreat and celebration, newly tenured faculty members enjoy networking opportunities with senior faculty mentors and colleagues, as they get expert guidance to evaluate and plan the next stage of their career progression.

Joined by the provost and several academic leaders and senior faculty, faculty members celebrate the milestone of becoming a long-term partner in Duke University’s future. They also consider the next stage of their career progression in teaching, research and service.

The gathering is intended to provide newly tenured faculty with an opportunity to pause and strategically consider the next five- to eight-year period of their careers in discussions led by senior faculty and administrators. The program includes a celebratory dinner, long-range career planning activities, presentations by senior faculty and networking opportunities with faculty representing a broad array of disciplines across the university.
