An annual day-long orientation program introduces new faculty to the various resources and opportunities available across the university and provides guidance on teaching and engaging students.
To welcome full-time regular rank faculty who are new to the university, the New Faculty Orientation provides attendees with the opportunity to engage with other newly recruited faculty and learn from experienced colleagues about Duke and the opportunities it provides for growth and success.
Throughout the day, the event includes presentations by campus leaders and senior faculty, as well as panels featuring faculty members who share their experiences. There is also a reception with the university president and opportunities for the new faculty to network and learn about resources available to them. Overall, the orientation supports the successful integration of the new faculty into the Duke community.
