Five Duke Faculty Chosen for Ivy+ Institute on Leadership in the Current Academic Landscape

Five Duke scholars have been selected for fellowships in the 2025-26 “Institute for Faculty Voice and Collaborative Leadership,” organized by the Ivy+ Faculty Advancement Network

Nominated by their deans, they will join a cohort of faculty members from other Ivy+ institutions to develop and apply new approaches to strengthen their leadership strategies in the current academic landscape.

Ivy+ institutions include Brown, Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Stanford and Yale.

Following a kickoff at Dartmouth in September, the Duke cohort will work in cross-consortium teams on ideas that advance Duke’s mission and values, and will learn content and strategies that will directly benefit their departments and disciplines. Following the institute launch, the fellows will engage in regular sessions on topics that are relevant to leadership in the current moment. They will also engage in a winter gathering of fellows across institutions, and the institute will conclude with a capstone event at Johns Hopkins in April.

All fellows will gain new leadership tools, like-minded partners and support for advancing excellence in American research universities.

Throughout the academic year, the Duke cohort will hold informal meetings to further their discussions of practices and strategies introduced during Ivy+ programming. This experience is part of Duke Faculty Advancement’s suite of programs supporting faculty in their teaching, research, service and leadership roles.
